Broom making class

Course Description
A course filled with creativity and practical crafting! Here, you'll have the opportunity to create your own unique brooms that not only bring functionality to your home but also add personality and style.

This two-day course will cover the basics of binding several types of brooms. You will learn preparation, processing, and techniques for binding and weaving small hand brooms, large kitchen brooms, and cobweb brooms. During the course, you will have time to make around 4-6 cleaning tools in various styles. Raleigh will teach you how to choose broom handles, use tools, maintain them, and understand materials. Throughout the course, there will be opportunities to work with different materials such as tampico, broomcorn, and arenga.

Instructor: Raleigh Cambell
Raleigh works with a variety of materials and focuses on traditional crafts. She is deeply committed to both learning and preserving traditional craftsmanship, as well as teaching these skills to others. Raleigh has traveled extensively, visiting mentors and experts in various crafts both in Sweden and internationally, to deepen her knowledge in different crafts. These include carving, brush making, and weaving.

Prerequisites
No prior knowledge is required to participate in the course.

Materials: Please note that the materials for the course are paid for on-site. The cost of materials is approximately 800–1200 SEK, depending on what you choose to create during the course.
